I knew I loved you before I met you...

Here are a few of our maternity pictures. I knew I wanted to have photos taken of us when we were expecting our very first baby. There is something about being pregnant that made me feel so beautiful. I loved it. I don't think I was ever more confident in myself.

OLD HABITS DIE HARD

Well... I said it before and I'll say it again. I'm bad with commitment. I'm working on it. My new year's resolutions for 2014 are not my typical lose weight crap. Nope, health is a lifestyle, not a new years resolution. I want to work on my character instead. Me, as a person. My short list is as follows:

  1. Finish projects that I start - that is where this blog comes into play. I started it when I was pregnant with Walker and I just never made time for it. Now, I'm sad I have not taken the time to chronicle all of our adventures up until now. So, that being said, I'm committing to doing better.
  2. Make more time for my friends and family - weather it be a text, a short phone conversation or a visit, I have so many people in my life that I love and I don't get around to seeing or visiting with nearly enough.
  3. Enjoy the little thing. I feel like I'm constantly trying to "get stuff done" I need more time to lay back and enjoy little moments with my little family. Walker is growing up way too fast and I don't want to miss a second of his fun personality.
To start off my #1 resolution, I will start blogging more. It's just like working out and being healthy...you have to make time for it. I will be telling about new things going on around here and throwing in some old "flashback"moments to talk about where Making the McKinneys has been over the last year and a half.

Picture above is from our Christmas/ Walker's 18 month photo shoot. More of these to come soon!

Worst Blogger EVER...

So, I'm totally aware that I'm probably the worst blogger ever. I haven't posted in nearly A YEAR! I know, ridiculous.

So, lets fast forward to now. I will go back to tell some pregnancy, birth, and post birth stories later. STAY TUNED!

As of now, I am the very proud mama to a sweet, happy and healthy baby boy. Our little W (must be pronounced Dubyah) is 8 months old and the light of our lives!

I can't imagine my world without him!

Here I would like to talk about the good times, hard times and struggles of being a BUSY working mom. With some fun stuff thrown in.

Follow along with us. It's going to be quite a ride.

There is something in the water

Two of my very best friends are also expecting little ones very soon. I am so excited to be sharing in the pregnancy experience with my girl friends.

This is the three of us at our annual girls Christmas gift exchange. Lindsey is in the middle and is due the week after me and Morgan is on the far right and is due in August. I can't wait for us all to have little ones running around together.

Here is a shot of all  my besties at our annual Chritmas exchange. I love these girls. Next year we will have 3 little ones attending the party too.

Prince or Princess?

There was no doubt in my mind we would find out the sex of Baby M. I just HAD to know. I need to go shopping people!! I wanted to find out as soon as humanly possible, but my doctor had different plans. She made me wait until my 21 week appointment! Excuse me! I know people who are finding out at week 12 lady. Just tell me!

January 20, 2012 Cam and I headed to the Dr. to see Baby M. We were excited and so very anxious because we had not gotten to see the little bambino since week 7. Seeing little M moving around in there and seeing little arms and legs and hearing the heartbeat was so amazing!
We wanted to find out the gender with friends and family so the technician made us look away while she viewed the sex. She put it in an envelope for us to take home with us. I took the envelope straight to my mom who was taking it to a baker later that day. I knew I needed to get it out of my possession. I had waited this long though, so I knew I could do it.
On Saturday, January 21, we had the gender reveal party with family and friends. It was such a great time! I’m so glad we decided to find out that way. It was so special!

Our beautiful cake. What do you think Baby M is??

They think it is a boy...hence the mustaches...

They think it is a girl...hence the tiaras...
Baby McKinney is a BOY!

Nausea City

For the first few weeks after I found out that I was pregnant, I felt great, never better! I was exercising normally, eating normally, etc. I thought I was some lucky pregnant person who wasn’t going to get morning sickness or nausea.

Then, about week 8 or 9 of pregnancy the nausea hit full force. Thank goodness I only had one day of  what they call “morning sickness”  but the nausea just didn’t let up.

Poor Cam, I wouldn’t cook or eat anything we normally ate. I could hardly stomach opening the fridge because I couldn’t even stand the sight of some foods.

I know, I had it pretty good, and that only lasted about 5 or 6 weeks. Ever since, I have had little at all to complain about. I’m a pretty happy pregnant lady! (mark my words on this. Remember, I’m only 25 weeks, we will see what the third trimester brings).
